Oct 20, 2024 - swingdev is hiring a remote Senior DevOps Engineer. 💸 Salary: 24,000 – 30,000 pln + vat. 📍Location: Poland.

We are a Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company from Silicon Valley - Hippo Insurance. Our mission is to revolutionize home insurance in the US, starting from IoT monitoring devices to our industry-leading software.

About the role:

Currently, we’re hiring for a Senior DevOps Engineer role with the opportunity to shape your career based on your expertise and interests. Depending on your skills and experience, you could be a perfect fit for one of three paths:

1. DevSecOps Engineer: If you're passionate about security, you’ll focus on integrating security protocols, securing microservices, and handling threat detection and incident management.
2. Data Platform DevOps Engineer: For those with a knack for data, you'll design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data infrastructure, streamlining pipelines, and ensuring high performance and compliance.
3. Senior DevOps Engineer: Prefer to keep it broad? You can stay versatile, managing infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD, and working across various cloud environments.

What will you do?
  • You'll be responsible for building a world-class scalable and resilient infrastructure that runs the Hippo platform.
  • You'll help make developers more productive by providing tools, metrics, CI/CD processes, and other self-service tools.
  • You'll have the chance to work with various cloud providers, databases, and open-source tools like Terraform, Vault, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • You'll use Golang, Python, and scripting languages like bash daily to build and scale tools, APIs, and serverless functions.
  • You'll have huge creative freedom and ability to put your mark on the project, and you will take ownership and responsibility for what you do. 
  • You’ll have a lot of chances to develop your skills as well as learn a lot about how tech business is done in the US (if you want to). 


    • We might be a match if you…
  • Have at least 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering, and you know your way around build/release automation.
  • Are skilled in Golang, Python, or Bash (or at least one of them).
  • Understand AWS VPC or GCP networking, including key concepts like network separation, security groups, and ACLs.
  • Have hands-on experience with tools like Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD systems (open source or hosted), and Terraform.
  • Are comfortable working with logging and metrics systems to keep things running smoothly.
  • Enjoy working in a small, focused, and highly efficient team.
  • Have a good command of English (written & spoken).
  • Are available in the afternoons - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur. Rest assured, we prioritize work-life fit, respect everyone's private lives, and don’t work at night but we still must ensure that communication between the time zones is effective.
