Education Analytics (EA) is seeking a thoughtful, energetic individual with a passion for helping people and organizations adapt to meaningful change and an interest in improving the K-12 education to join the Program Operations team as a Program Operations Strategist I. The Program Operations Strategist I position is expected to support the development and refinement of operating procedures and systems for project management and execution at the organization. The position will be required to develop plans, schedules, and timelines for a set of Program Operations initiatives that support project efficiency and impact and bring successful best practices to scale. To support successful implementation, the projects will require cross-team collaboration and providing input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs and materials. In addition, the Program Operations Strategist I will maintain a collection of projects and be responsible for shepherding those projects through best practices checklists to support the fidelity of process implementation. This role will work closely with other teams across the organization to monitor the success of new efforts and support successful change management.


EA is a fast-growing 80+ person non-profit organization comprised of on-site and remote employees with its headquarters based in Madison, WI. We partner with school districts, state education agencies, regional offices of education, non-profits, and policymakers to identify ways to improve education systems through cutting-edge analytic and technology solutions. Many of EA’s partner organizations are large public-school districts that serve diverse, often under-represented student populations, and EA values the breadth of educational experiences in employees that reflect these populations.


Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the development of tools and processes that improve project efficiencies and success, through implementation of piloting and feedback cycles
  • Lead project management of pilot or rollout process (e.g., communication, training, documentation)
  • Maintain and oversee a collection of projects using an in-development project life cycle checklist that covers key steps and tools during each stage of an EA project (from launch to debrief)
  • Support the logistics of planning and implementing project debrief meetings and ensure team feedback is captured and next steps are outlined
  • Work closely with the Finance team to maintain logistics around project staffing budgets to ensure our project budgets and related stakeholder engagement are on track
  • Work closely with the Finance team to support usability testing of new project budget tools and processes
  • Identify key areas of project-level innovation or project team feedback, and bring that communication from project-level work to the broader team
  • Ensure Program Operations process and timeline documentation is organized and thorough to foster organizational learning at EA (this may include an opportunity for improving our broader documentation processes at EA)
  • Support the facilitation of cross-team conversations and collaborative planning, including 1:1 empathy interviews, close partnership and consultation with EA teams and workgroups (including our Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity team, People Operations team, Finance team, and program teams) and other key program team members at the organization
  • Support meeting scheduling, note-taking, and using our internal project management tools to facilitate successful completion of team initiatives


Education And Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated project management / support, including designing and leading successful initiatives within a team or across an organization
  • Minimum post-secondary degree in change management, education, policy, business, psychology, public affairs, finance, or a related field

  • Weekly hour expectation is 45 hours per week, with the understanding that specific periods around project deadlines may require additional time commitment to support completion.

  • Strong familiarity /awareness of successful project management tools and processes, and ability to identify where potential gaps/areas of improvement could be addressed
  • Proven trust builder and trusted contributor across departments and/or with other colleagues
  • Ability to handle numerous time-sensitive tasks concurrently and adapt to a fast-paced environment


Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for the Program Operations Strategist I position is $55,000, based on experience. EA also has a generous benefits package including:

Travel Requirements

  • Hybrid/remote candidates will be considered for this position with periodic paid travel to headquarters and to partner locations


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and partners by Zoom, telephone, Slack, email, and in person
  • Ability to work using a computer for an extended period of time
