Transparency and Accountability Initiative (TAI) is a collaborative of leading funders of transparency, accountability, and participation efforts worldwide. We envision a world where citizens are informed and empowered; governments are open and responsive; and collective action advances the public good.
Building on successes to date, ranging from playing a key role in the establishment and implementation of the Open Government Partnership to reducing transaction costs for grantee organizations, TAI aims to increase the collective impact of transparency and accountability interventions by strengthening grantmaking practice, learning and collaboration among its members, and encouraging new funders to join the field.
Our members are Ford Foundation, Hewlett Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Omidyar Network, Open Society Foundations, and the UK Department for International Development. With them, we are focusing on the following thematic areas: data use for accountability, strengthening civic space, taxation and tax governance, and learning for improved grantmaking.
The TAI team is based in Washington, D.C. but works with partners all around the world. TAI as an employer is committed to providing a high-paced positive work environment, opportunities for professional development, international travel, competitive salary and excellent benefits.
