Onion was born out of our passion and expertise as software testing consultants. With a combined 50 years of experience in software testing consultancy, we shared a common goal: to create a Software Testing Course that's accessible and comprehensive.

As we ventured into this project, we quickly realised a significant gap in the availability of coherent resources for newcomers looking to start a career in this dynamic field. Whether you're beginning as a Junior Tester or aiming for the role of QA Manager, the options for training in Software Testing are extremely limited. Our mission is crystal clear – we want to bridge this gap and share our extensive knowledge with aspiring testers like you.

Now, you might be wondering, why did we choose the name "Onion"?

Well, naming our project was a crucial decision, and it involved some intense brainstorming sessions. Ultimately, it was Mark who came up with the name "Onion." The reasoning behind it is simple: in the world of software testing, you're essentially peeling back layers of code to uncover and reveal bugs. So, think of Onion as the perfect name that captures the essence of the software testing process.
