Role Description

A Purchasing Agent at Carnival Cruise Lines is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services necessary for shipboard operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Review confirmations from vendors and source out-of-stock items from other vendors by researching and identifying supply options and/or substitutions.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to manage the timely delivery of goods to shipboard locations.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data in procurement systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential goods.
• Collaborate with shoreside and shipboard teams to address procurement-related issues and challenges.
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Participate in cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required.
• At least 3-5 years in supply chain operations, procurement, and expediting.
• Preferably with experience in Oracle Iprocurement and Crunchtime.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments, including culinary, beverage, and hotel services.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be amenable to work in EST.
