[Hiring] Manager, Supply Chain – Indirect Procurement @Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Role Description

Join the power movement as Manager, Supply Chain – Indirect Procurement. Lead a team of category managers and buyers to meet company objectives through supplier and contract management. Ensure purchases meet financial targets and project schedules.

• Build and manage the indirect procurement organization in support of facilities, services, IT software and hardware, capital equipment, tooling, consumables, MRO, and maintenance.
• Manage the indirect purchasing process for goods and services from suppliers in support of internal customer requirements.
• Develop and optimize purchasing business processes including credit card management, purchase order approvals, contract management, and others.
• Lead sourcing and category based initiatives to identify and select best value suppliers and mitigate risk.
• Prepare and execute negotiations for contracts and agreements, coordinating with legal counsel where necessary to finalize contracts and statements of work.
• Adhere to all supply chain policies, procedures, guidelines and instructions including those regarding the procurement of materials, intellectual property, and export compliance.
• Provide constant, clear, and timely updates to internal customers.
• May supervise roles such as, direct or indirectly:
  • Associate Buyer
  • Buyer
  • Senior Buyer
  • Category Manager
  • Procurement Analyst

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance or other related fields.
• 10+ years experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
• 5+ years experience in Indirect Procurement.
• Extensive experience negotiating contracts.
• Experience with the implementation and management of ERP or other procurement tools.
• Creative negotiating skills.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Exceptional communications skills.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks.
• Strong Customer Service skills.
• Remarkable problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Perform extended activities such as stooping, typing, standing, sitting, etc.
• Perform extended periods of phone or teleconference work.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to construction sites and suppliers.
• Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
