Role Description
We're looking for a senior strategist to be the intellectual engine of our client work. The job essentially has three segments: advise, direct, and interpret. You direct the analysis, interpret what the data actually means, and advise clients on what to do about it - delivered in a way that moves executives to act.
While the Engagement Lead runs the engagement - the workplan, the budget, the coordination - you will own the answer. You are not the project manager; you are the standard-setter, guiding the work at the level of questions, quality, and meaning.
-
The analytical agenda:
defining the questions worth asking, directing the analysis, and pressure-testing the results before anyone else sees them.
-
The interpretation:
turning diagnostics and data into a clear point of view on where value is created, where it leaks, and what to do about it.
-
The plan:
growth roadmaps, business cases, and prioritized recommendations that clients can actually execute.
-
The story:
executive-grade narratives, presentations, and moments that change how a leadership team thinks about their program.
-
The advisory relationship:
serving as the senior strategic voice clients turn to when the question is βwhat should we do?β rather than βwhen will it be done?β
-
Direction of the work:
guiding engagement teams on quality, rigor, and analytical direction across concurrent workstreams, without carrying the project management yourself.
-
The practice:
sharpening LPM's methods, frameworks, and points of view with every engagement, and building the IP the whole team draws on.
Qualifications
-
10+ years in strategy consulting, loyalty, or customer analytics, with deep experience turning complex analysis into executive decisions.
-
Analytically fluent - segmentation, cohorts, churn, LTV, propensity, experimentation - you don't run every model, but nothing gets past you.
-
An exceptional communicator: your writing is sharp, your presentations land, and your recommendations get adopted.
-
A structured strategic thinker who can find the signal in a messy diagnostic and build a plan around it.
-
Experienced overseeing project teams and raising the quality of the work around you.
-
Intellectually generous - you make the people and the practice around you smarter.
Requirements
-
Advanced fluency with AI-assisted research and analysis - you use AI tools as a force multiplier for hypothesis generation, synthesis, benchmarking, and drafting, while applying the judgment to know when the machine is wrong.
-
Primary research design - you construct member research, executive interviews, and survey instruments that answer the question at hand, and you extract meaning from qualitative and quantitative evidence together.
-
Real capability with forecasting models - you build, stress-test, and interpret projections of program performance, member value, and financial impact; you understand assumptions, sensitivities, and confidence, and you never present a number you can't defend.
-
Deep financial prowess - program P&L, unit economics, LTV, redemption liability, breakage, cost-to-serve, and partner economics are native territory; your recommendations always trace to financial impact.
-
Business case mastery - you develop investment cases with the structure and rigor of a top-tier strategy firm: sized opportunities, explicit assumptions, scenario ranges, and payback logic that survives CFO scrutiny.
-
The discipline to quantify - you size everything you recommend, distinguish confidence from hope, and prioritize by value rather than volume.
-
Exceptional presentation craft - your decks are arguments, not documentation; each one builds to a decision, and you deliver them with the presence to move a boardroom.
-
Thought leadership as a core output - you author points of view, frameworks, and published perspectives that shape how the market thinks about loyalty, and that make clients want to work with us before we ever pitch.
-
Writing that does the work - executive summaries, decision papers, and narratives so clear that the recommendation feels inevitable by the final page.
Benefits
-
Your analysis changes decisions - clients reprioritize, invest, and act because of what you showed them.
-
Your deliverables set the standard the rest of the practice aims for, and your frameworks get reused across engagements.
-
Executives leave your readouts with clarity, not more questions - and the market starts quoting your point of view.
