Role Description

The technical challenge:

• More than 80% of Americans own a car and see it as a fundamental necessity.
• The experience of owning a car is complicated, fragmented, expensive, and time-consuming.
• At Jerry.ai, we are building the first mobile app to manage the entire car ownership experience.
• Our insurance marketplace is our core product, automating the end-to-end shopping experience.
• The Core Backend Team orchestrates complex, multi-step transactions with external systems to finalize insurance policy purchases.
• We build custom orchestration layers due to the industry's lack of modern APIs.
• Your challenge will be to evolve our current automation systems into a robust, fault-tolerant framework.

What you’ll own:

• Lead incremental refactoring of existing automation systems.
• Phase 1: Learn both technical and business sides of our core product, then design and implement new standards.
• Phase 2: Shift towards an AI-first approach for building the next generation of internal tools.

Qualifications

• A Player Coach: Experience as a founder or lead architect at an early-stage startup.
• A Detective: Obsessed with success rates and understanding complex business logic.
• A Systems Thinker: High bar for system design, especially for offline, asynchronous jobs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in TypeScript (Nest.js, React), GraphQL, AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda).
