[Hiring] Staff Platform Engineer @First American (India)

Role Description

You will be the technical lead for First American’s enterprise AWS platform powering application modernization, with strong multi-cloud exposure across AWS and Azure. You will define strategy and reference architectures with a strong product mindset, lead complex designs, and guide multiple squads building a secure, compliant, self-service platform.

• Own the end-to-end AWS platform architecture and its roadmap.
• Partner with Azure Platform Engineering to align landing-zone design.
• Set and enforce platform principles across AWS and Azure.
• Lead AWS hub-and-spoke networking.
• Align Azure hub-and-spoke networking patterns.
• Define and govern AWS SCPs, IAM policies, and permission boundaries.
• Align Azure governance.
• Own centralized AWS root account management strategy.
• Support Azure tenant/subscription break-glass controls.
• Define org-wide AWS Config and GuardDuty architecture.
• Align Azure security posture.
• Direct AWS identity architecture.
• Align Azure identity architecture.
• Own AWS observability architecture.
• Align Azure observability.
• Partner with InfoSec on unified posture management across AWS and Azure.
• Drive multi-cloud patterns and guardrails consistent across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Define modernization paths for AWS and Azure.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering and agentic automations.
• Lead Terraform IaC migration strategy.
• Apply a strong product mindset.
• Mentor and develop senior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate across Platform Engineering teams.
• Design and manage AWS multi-account strategy.
• Implement and maintain AWS Control Tower or a custom landing zone.
• Define and execute strategic roadmaps for AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Communicate effectively with engineering, InfoSec, operations, and leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in platform/cloud engineering with 6+ on AWS at enterprise scale.
• Proven multi-cloud exposure with hands-on Azure platform engineering.
• Expert in Terraform, IaC governance, and CI/CD across AWS and Azure.
• Deep AWS networking knowledge.
• Solid Azure networking knowledge.
• Strong AWS security engineering skills.
• Strong Azure security engineering skills.
• AWS identity management experience.
• Azure identity management experience.
• AWS observability experience.
• Azure observability experience.
• Hands-on with AWS Control Tower and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Requirements

• Spacelift knowledge or hands-on experience.
• Cloudflare Zero Trust/Tunnels, WAF/DDoS; Palo Alto VM-Series design at scale.
• CloudFormation and Bicep/ARM expertise.
• GCP platform familiarity for multi-cloud architecture alignment.
