Role Description

AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Software System Designer to:

• Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components, software, and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing.
• Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product.
• Define processes for technical platforms, system and software specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
• Conceive system interfaces and software application prototypes.
• Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses.
• Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
• Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
• Implement virtualization features.
• Evaluate and implement protection features for server platforms.
• Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
• Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field.
• One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering or design role.
