Role Description

Sr. JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. Key responsibilities include:

• Documenting detailed system specifications.
• Participating in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications.
• Evaluating and performance testing of purchased products.
• Planning, developing, testing, and documenting systems and applications.
• Evaluating user requests for new or modified application systems, such as:
• Financial or human resource management systems.
• Call center and online banking applications.
• Statistical analysis of customer data relative to analytical modeling.
• Analyzing and developing specifications for mobile technologies.
• Determining feasibility, cost, and time required for compatibility with current systems and future development applications.
• Including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.
• Leading efforts, overseeing work results, providing training, and serving as a technical resource for other Developers.

Qualifications

• Experience with release procedures, coding design, and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures.
• Proficiency using versioning tools: GIT, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible team player.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
• Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle.
• Proficiency in programming in more than one object-oriented programming language; JAVA, JavaScript.
• Experience with HTML and Frameworks such as Java Server Pages.
• Experience with SOAP, REST web service development.
• Database knowledge in: DB2 SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.
• Proficiency in debugging a large and complex codebase.
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
• Ability to manipulate data from various sources/formats such as flat files, relational databases, non-relational databases, XML, JSON, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years relational database experience.
• 5+ years related work experience, professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry.
