[Hiring] Software Engineer, Tax @Aiwyn

Role Description

Aiwyn is hiring a senior software engineer to join the team that owns our tax engine, which has already filed over a million returns.

The tax engine is a strategic piece of IP at Aiwyn, serving as the foundation for AI labs and modern firms.

• Build the system that builds the engine.
• Own the agent tooling, test infrastructure, and confidence metrics.
• Work closely with tax experts to understand filing across federal and state jurisdictions.
• Build and extend APIs for AI labs and modern firms.
• Take projects from spec to ship to scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on technical depth in domains where correctness matters.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge engineering and a non-engineering domain.
• AI-native fluency.
• Comfortable across the stack (backend, frontend, or infrastructure).
• Bonus: experience building or contributing to a rules engine, calculation engine, or comparable system.
• Bonus: tax industry experience.

Requirements

• Track record of taking full ownership of projects from spec to ship to scale.
• Experience shipping real systems where edge cases and accuracy are non-negotiable.
• Ability to work closely with non-engineering experts and build shared language.
