[Hiring] Software Engineer (Junior) @Peraton

Role Description

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer (Junior) to support the MODES III program supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting development, integration, testing, and maintenance of web/CMS front ends, lightweight backend services, and dashboard data feeds in AWS GovCloud under senior supervision.
• Implementing accessible front end components (HTML5, CSS, JS) and CMS template changes compliant with Section 508/WCAG; assisting with responsive and mobile first rendering.
• Assisting with basic API integration, data mapping for dashboards, and ETL/ingestion tasks into secure dev/test environments.
• Executing routine builds and deployments into dev/test following CI/CD runbooks; performing basic automated and manual test execution.
• Supporting incident triage for non-critical outages, gathering logs, creating defect tickets, and escalating per incident procedures.
• Familiar with: HTML/CSS/JavaScript, basic Python or Node.js, Git, and Jira.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience / Education:
  • 2 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or
  • 0 years with MS/MA or
  • 6 years without a degree or
  • 4 years with AS/AA.
• Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix.

Requirements

• Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty) or equivalent cloud certifications.
• Experience supporting large-scale government IT modernization programs.
• CompTIA Security+.
• Remote work with the ability to travel to the NCR when required.

Benefits

• Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
• Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
