[Hiring] Software Engineer @Enroute

Role Description

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who can balance hands-on, detail-oriented development work with long-term strategic thinking. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining scalable, sustainable integrations that connect our internal and external systems.

You care about writing clean, maintainable code and believe that delivering value quickly should never come at the expense of code quality or long-term scalability. You’re proactive in avoiding technical debt and constantly seek ways to improve our engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs using Python/Typescript or another modern programming language.
• Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
• A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and the ability to deliver business value in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Experience working in a startup or high-growth company (founded within the last 5–10 years).
• Familiarity with unit testing and automated acceptance testing frameworks.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as React — while not required, this is a plus since our team supports both internal and external UIs.
• Experience provisioning cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins or similar tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain software enabling internal and external API integrations using Python and Typescript.
• Follow best practices in code to build maintainable, low-complexity software which adheres to common programming principles.
• Work with stakeholders including our Product and Operations teams to support their product development needs.
• Review requirements and translate into an executable development plan, breaking down projects to enable iterative and agile implementation.
• Provide production support. We do not have after-hours on-call support, but do support our products during business hours with a rotating schedule.
