The developer will also help ensure the platform remains fast, reliable, and secure as traffic and inventory grow.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, product-minded engineer with 5+ years of experience who writes clean, maintainable code, takes ownership of features from idea to production, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship new features across the company's web platform and customer-facing experiences.
  • Improve flight search, filtering, booking, and checkout flows for travelers.
  • Build and enhance tools that operators use to manage their aircraft, availability, and listings.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code that follows team standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate on product decisions and turn business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain integrations with third-party flight management systems, scheduling tools, and calendar feeds.
  • Work with APIs, OAuth connections, iCal feeds, RSS feeds, and other data sources to import and sync flight inventory automatically.
  • Ensure flight data stays accurate, consistent, and current across the platform.
  • Monitor sync jobs and data pipelines, and troubleshoot failures quickly.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company's iOS and Android apps.
  • Build responsive, fast-loading web experiences optimized for both desktop and mobile users.
  • Support SEO-friendly pages and performance improvements that help travelers find flights.
  • Monitor platform performance and resolve bugs, outages, and production issues.
  • Optimize application speed, database queries, and infrastructure for scale.
  • Implement secure handling of user accounts, payments, and sensitive data.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Work closely with leadership, operations, and other team members to prioritize and deliver work.
  • Document code, systems, and integrations so others can easily maintain and extend them.
  • Share ideas for improving the product, development workflow, and engineering processes.

  • Strong experience building modern web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js or similar frameworks.
  • Solid back-end development experience, including building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external data sources, including authentication methods such as OAuth and API keys.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Git, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications in production on cloud platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of features from start to finish.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace.
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mobile app development, such as React Native or native iOS/Android.
  • Experience building marketplace, booking, travel, or e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience in aviation, travel technology, or logistics.
