[Hiring] Senior Staff Software Engineer, Storage @Airbnb

Role Description

As a member of the UDS (Unified Data Store) team, you will work on building and operating a reliable, scalable, and global system-of-record storage infrastructure for Airbnb. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and operating a highly performant, available, and scalable data access gateway.
• Empowering engineers at Airbnb to define and manage data through a generalized data schematization solution.
• Abstracting implementation complexities such as storage, indices, data placement, replication, security, and data lifecycle management from product developers.
• Covering object relation model (ORM), schema definition, schema life-cycle management, and runtime schema discovery.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on experience in building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of systems and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Ability to own and dive deeply into a complex code base.
• Knack for writing clean, readable, testable, maintainable code.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a remote-working environment.
• Ability to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to build world-class solutions.

Requirements

• This position is US - Remote Eligible.
• Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.
• You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits

• Base pay range: $244,000 — $305,000 USD.
• Role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
