[Hiring] Senior/Staff Core Engineer @American IT Systems

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior/Staff Core Engineer with 4+ years of experience to own and develop key systems within our agent infrastructure platform. You should be a technically strong backend/platform engineer who has built scalable SaaS systems serving 100K+ users and can bring clean architecture instincts to a fast-moving team. This is a hands-on IC role – you'll be building the engine that powers an enterprise AI workforce, working across orchestration, memory, RAG, and observability modules. You must be comfortable with occasional client-facing interactions and travel to customer sites, as well as cross-country collaboration with engineering teams in India.

• Leading development of core platform modules – agent orchestration, memory systems, RAG, tool execution, and guardrails – from design through production delivery
• Building and scaling backend systems in Python (and Go as a bonus) on AWS, ensuring low latency and high availability for a growing SaaS customer base
• Collaborating with the India-based engineering team on shared platform systems, occasionally accommodating cross-timezone meetings
• Engaging directly with US-based enterprise clients – joining requirements calls, visiting client offices, and having technical conversations with their engineering teams
• Contributing to system design reviews (LLD/HLD) and helping uphold engineering quality standards across the platform team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend/platform engineering
• Built scalable SaaS platform systems serving 100K+ users
• Extensive infra and platform building experience, not just shipping application code
• Experience at high-caliber companies (e.g., FAANG, scaled startups)
• Built agent/LLM infrastructure (RAG, orchestration, memory)
• BS in CS or equivalent technical degree

Requirements

• Python proficient
• Cloud-native experience (AWS preferred) with CI/CD workflows
• Go experience
• Familiarity with MongoDB
• Client-facing communication skills; comfortable in technical customer meetings
• US citizen or green card holder (permanent resident); no sponsorship
• Willing to travel to client sites (potentially extended stays)
