[Hiring] Senior Software Engineer, Plant Intelligence @1 Arc Power

Role Description

This role builds the software people use to design, commission and operate plants, with automation and AI built in.

• Build products end to end: interactive interfaces, APIs and the services behind them.
• Build tools across the plant lifecycle: design, commissioning and operations.
• Bring automation and AI into how plants are designed and run.
• Turn plant data into dashboards and insights people act on.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering, building full-stack production applications.
• Strong TypeScript and React, and Python.
• APIs, data modeling and SQL databases.
• Complex, data-heavy interfaces such as maps and visualizations.
• Algorithmic problem solving with real-world constraints.
• Bias for action and end-to-end ownership.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineers and commercial teams.

Requirements

• Power or renewable energy industry experience.
• Solar performance modeling tools: PVsyst, SAM or similar.
• Machine learning for optimization: surrogate models, Bayesian optimization or similar.
• Optimization: linear or mixed-integer programming, or heuristic search.
• Data engineering: data lakes, pipelines and streaming.
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform or similar.
• Geospatial data and GIS.
