[Hiring] Senior Software Engineer II, Team Lead - Customer Continuity @Frontline Education

Role Description

As a Senior Software Engineer II / Team Lead, Legacy Platform Engineering, you will lead the engineering team responsible for three established Frontline applications. This is a hands-on team leadership role with meaningful ownership. You will be accountable for the team's delivery, help set its technical direction, grow the engineers around you, and contribute directly to the code when your expertise can move the team forward.

Your responsibilities include:

• Own end-to-end delivery across the Legacy team, taking accountability for team outcomes, quality, predictability, and production readiness.
• Lead sprint planning, technical decomposition, solution design, and design reviews.
• Serve as the onshore technical lead and escalation point for the Legacy applications.
• Design and implement complex, cross-cutting features from initial scoping to ongoing support.
• Work fluently across React, .NET/C#, Angular, REST APIs, microservices, data layers, and AWS cloud services.
• Build deep technical understanding of critical modules and services.
• Dive into established codebases to understand system behavior before recommending changes.
• Partner closely with Product Management to evaluate technical feasibility and shape solutions.
• Coordinate with QA, DevOps, Architecture, and adjacent engineering teams.
• Lead thoughtful code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, feedback, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Use AI-assisted development tools throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Apply strong engineering judgment to AI-assisted work.
• Proactively identify technical debt and recommend improvements.
• Surface delivery risks, technical trade-offs, and production concerns early.
• Continuously look for opportunities to simplify how the team works.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on full-stack proficiency across React, .NET/C#, and Angular.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience working effectively in established or legacy codebases.
• Experience taking complex features through the full engineering lifecycle.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to evaluate AI-generated output.
• Experience leading code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort serving as an onshore technical lead for a distributed team.

Requirements

• Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms, distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tooling.
• Familiarity with the Inspired Product Model.
• Experience improving engineering standards, development practices, or tooling.
