Role Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and optimization of complex software solutions that support and enhance organizational objectives. You will leverage your extensive experience to analyze intricate requirements, architect scalable systems, and lead the implementation of high-quality code-based solutions using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks. Collaborating with cross-functional project teams, you will ensure that new products and updates to existing systems are delivered efficiently and meet business-defined requirements, applying best practices and automation to streamline processes.

• Leads support, administration, and reporting for the Credit Union's delivery systems.
• Architect and implement robust processes to optimize the day-to-day operation of systems.
• Oversee software and certificate license management.
• Evaluate and report performance metrics on internal and external systems.
• Uses gathered metrics to recommend improvements.
• Manages the implementation of patch releases to systems.
• Support and maintenance of associated applications used to interact with core banking systems.
• Drive architectural initiatives within the organization.
• Conduct advanced functional analysis and application design work.
• Build cross-functional collaboration and communication.
• Deliver expert-level guidance on system solutions.
• Engage peers across lines of business.
• Able to reference, interpret and effectively communicate functional requirements documentation.
• Proposes system solutions for components/applications.
• Understands the inter-relationship of software, hardware and system components.
• Has an advanced understanding of, and mentors team members on UI/UX development and principles.
• Strategically evaluate project and reporting requests.
• Oversee the design and execution of comprehensive testing protocols.
• Lead by example in writing and reviewing code.
• Participates in the management of the team’s release and change control process.
• Act as a key resource in diagnosing and resolving production issues.
• Explain the product’s value proposition.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of third-party technologies.
• Exhibit adeptness in coding across platforms.
• Champion the development of comprehensive technical documentation.
• Spearhead initiatives involving AI-powered applications.
• Understands the security implications of AI.
• Stay at the forefront of AI advancements.
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Support integration of AI models into existing software products and APIs.
• Advanced and extensive troubleshooting and debugging of issues in AI components.
• Stay updated on foundational AI concepts and best practices.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the agile software development lifecycle.
• Utilize expertise in Git and deployment pipelines.
• Demonstrates expert-level understanding and leadership in implementing and maintaining information security.
• Mentor junior staff and lead initiatives or projects within the security domain.
• Develops and oversees robust technologies and processes to ensure data and system integrity.
• Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the systems and procedures that protect data.
• Implement, enforce, interpret and communicate policies and procedures to team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

Requirements

• 6-9 years of relevant work experience required.
• Windows development experience is mandatory.
• Linux experience is a plus.
• UI/UX development experience using modern tools and frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, JavaScript).
• 5+ years financial industry operations experience – preferably within a credit union.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or related.
• Exposure to project management methodologies, networks, telecommunications, call centers, business applications and/or software development.
