[Hiring] Senior Software Engineer @FYT

Role Description

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Fulfillment Team, you'll own the core applications and algorithms that power our freight and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) carrier network. You will:

• Design, build, and ship critical backend systems that handle carrier profiles, fleet management, schedules, and onboarding workflows.
• Architect core marketplace mechanics for automated dispatch, including matching shipments to carriers, scoring assignments, and managing stale offers.
• Integrate routing, pricing, and payout rules to ensure timely shipment servicing and accurate financial pipelines.
• Debug production issues, ship API endpoints and database migrations, and operate background jobs and event-streaming workflows in production.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Data Science, and company leadership to scale a fault-tolerant carrier domain.

Qualifications

• 4+ Years of Backend Experience: Proven track record building, scaling, or maintaining mission-critical backend systems in high-growth production environments.
• Distributed Systems Architecture: Hands-on experience architecting resilient product infrastructure, microservices, and asynchronous event-driven data pipelines (Kafka/Redis).
• Data Layer Mastery: Deep comfort with PostgreSQL — schema design, data modeling, query performance optimization, and concurrency handling.
• System Design Fundamentals: Understanding of data structures, state machines, race conditions, and asynchronous systems.
• No-Ego Collaboration: Ability to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to both developers and business stakeholders.

• Strong engineering skills with a focus on high-frequency, incremental product value delivery.
• Ability to deeply understand the physical-world nuances of freight mechanics, load boarding, and driver workflows.
• Experience in leading deep dives into system reliability, debugging, and data correctness.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills to design high-leverage product workflows.
