Role Description

We hire for CircleCI, not specific teams, allowing you to leverage your strengths in various areas such as:

• CI pipeline experience
• Deploy and release tooling
• Notification infrastructure
• Monetization flows
• AI agent surfaces
• Foundational web platform

Your work will directly shape how tens of thousands of developers experience CircleCI every day.

What You'll Do:

• Build AI-natively, making AI the default starting point for problem-solving.
• Set technical direction by leading design discussions and writing architectural decision records (ADRs).
• Invent new interfaces for software delivery that enhance developer trust and understanding.
• Own the full stack, building features end-to-end in Go, React, and TypeScript.
• Obsess over craft, ensuring reliability and responsiveness are design priorities.
• Champion observability using tools like Honeycomb, Datadog, and Rollbar.
• Close gaps and fix conditions that create issues within the team.

Qualifications

• AI-native engineering practices with daily use of AI tools.
• A track record of shipping real products with 5+ years of production full-stack experience.
• Full-stack depth with strong React and TypeScript skills.
• Comfortable owning backend services in Go, including API design and data modeling.
• Experience leading architectural decisions on complex systems.
• Ability to reduce ambiguity and provide clear direction for the team.
• Technical leadership skills, mentoring engineers and raising quality standards.

Requirements

• Experience with AI tools and their impact on engineering practices.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development.
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
• Experience with backend services in Go.
• Ability to document architectural decisions and tradeoffs.
• Proven adaptability in ambiguous situations.
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical feedback.
