Role Description

At Fellow, we’re on a mission to give every employee their own AI-powered Chief of Staff, an assistant that understands your meeting discussions, surfaces key insights, answers questions, and takes action so you can focus on what matters most.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-paced Engineering team. You’ll build and ship end-to-end features, collaborate closely with Product and Design, use AI-powered developer tools, and ensure every release improves how teams collaborate inside Fellow.

About the Role

• Engineering Excellence: Build and maintain features end-to-end with React / TypeScript, Django / Python, and GraphQL / Relay, writing clean, performant, and maintainable code.
• AI Tooling Advocate: Champion the use of AI tools, from quick prototyping to test generation, to strengthen our engineering practices.
• Outcome-Oriented Delivery: Focus on work that meaningfully moves product and business metrics, translating requirements into user impact, not just output.
• Collaborative Development: Partner closely with Product, Design, and QA to turn concepts into polished experiences that delight users.
• Quality & Testing: Contribute to our CI pipeline by writing unit, integration, and regression tests, and take part in thoughtful code reviews to keep quality high.
• Technical Specifications: Draft and refine tech specs, break work into deliverable pieces, and define success metrics to ensure every release delivers impact.
• Continuous Improvement: Introduce new tools, libraries, and best practices that boost developer productivity and code quality, while mentoring teammates along the way.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack or backend development experience, ideally in high-growth product environments.
• Thrive in fast-paced teams where speed and impact go hand-in-hand.
• Excited about AI and tools like Cursor to supercharge your productivity.
• Love owning features end-to-end—from writing technical specs to monitoring post-release impact.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate well across disciplines.
• Have worked in remote environments and enjoy asynchronous collaboration.

Compensation

For this role, the expected salary range is $130k to $180k CAD annually depending on experience, skills, and role scope.
