Role Description

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of SIP: registration and REGISTER/auth flows, NAT traversal, SDP/RTP, codecs, and SIP trunking.
• Knowledge of IMS core setup: P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, HSS, and VoLTE/VoWiFi call flows.
• Experience in setting up and configuring SBCs: topology hiding, transcoding, security, and interop.
• Familiarity with routing: call routing, number and LCR routing, failover, and STIR/SHAKEN.
• Experience with AI voice agents: media streaming to AI with low latency.
• Mastery over agentic coding, including worktree management, multi-agent workflows, and structured approaches like SDD, TDD, SpecKit.
• Understanding of the end-to-end systems lifecycle and full-stack development.
• Experience with Wispr Flow and agent-based coding.

Requirements

• Own call routing and design how every call moves through the network.
• Connect carriers and customers, bringing new SIP trunks and interconnects live quickly.
• Build programmable voice features: call control APIs, webhooks, recording, IVR, and real-time audio streaming.
• Power AI voice products, working on call screening and voice agents.
• Retire legacy voice by moving traffic off older platforms onto direct SIP trunks.
• Lead caller trust initiatives, including STIR/SHAKEN and caller ID compliance.
• Ensure reliability at scale with redundant SBCs and capacity planning.
• Debug and automate call tracing and fixes.
• Share knowledge through ADRs and code reviews.
