[Hiring] Senior Scala/C# Engineer @Nortal

Role Description

Join Nortal for your next big adventure. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Scala / C# / AWS) to join our team, grow with us, and teach us a few things along the way.

As a Senior AEM Backend Developer, you will primarily contribute to backend services, working within an established AWS ecosystem that includes event-driven architectures, containerized workloads, and modern software engineering practices. Most development work will involve extending and enhancing existing services, with occasional development of new services.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Scala and/or C#.
• Enhance and support distributed microservices running on AWS ECS.
• Build and maintain integrations across services using service discovery and event-driven communication patterns.
• Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code within an existing cloud-native platform.
• Work with messaging systems and asynchronous processing solutions.
• Collaborate closely with experienced engineers and domain experts in payment processing.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining engineering rigor and code quality.
• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of backend applications.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural evolution of the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in backend engineering.
• Proven strong experience with Scala or C#.
• Experience working with AWS.
• Previous experience working with Microservices architecture.
• Proficiency working with SQL.
• AI-assisted development experience.
• Advanced English Level is required for this role, as you will work with US clients.
