[Hiring] Senior Platform Engineer @saas.group

Role Description

This role is part of our ScraperAPI team, one of our growing brands at saas.group. ScraperAPI is an enterprise-scale web scraping solution, trusted by businesses across a wide range of industries to extract crucial data at scale. We're currently on an exciting growth journey, scaling rapidly as demand for reliable, high-performance web scraping and data keeps rising.

We are seeking a talented Senior Platform Engineer to join our focused engineering team. We're building a product that handles billions of requests per month for businesses that depend on it. Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

• Explore and assess the infrastructure architecture, collecting risks and opportunities that need to be addressed.
• Build and maintain a platform roadmap based on your findings, prioritising the work that matters most.
• Support the consolidation of two infrastructure stacks into a unified platform, helping shape how the migration happens.
• Help the engineering team increase its maturity around AI usage and standardise development environment tooling and processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform roadmap: identify what needs to be fixed, what needs to be built, and drive it forward.
• Lead cost management efforts across our infrastructure, including proxy costs which are among our highest expenses.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of our infrastructure through robust monitoring, alerting and disaster recovery strategies.
• Strengthen security measures to protect against continuous threats and attacks.
• Lead the consolidation of our two infrastructure stacks into a unified platform, ensuring minimal disruption throughout.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, with potential involvement in AI projects.

Tech Stack

We run on DigitalOcean and Hetzner, serve our applications with Kubernetes, and work with a range of databases including PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse and MongoDB. Familiarity with this stack or similar environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform or DevOps engineering experience at scale, with a track record of driving infrastructure improvements.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise and experience with containerisation and orchestration for large-scale deployments.
• Infrastructure as Code proficiency (Terraform) and solid experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus or similar).
• Excellent communication skills, able to advise and influence technical stakeholders.
• A practical track record of using AI tools to drive real impact at work.
• Experience leading or mentoring other engineers is a plus.
