[Hiring] Senior Platform Consultant @Red River

Role Description

The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Senior Platform Consultant to join us in Spain, preferably in Madrid. In this role, you will work as a subject matter expert in Red Hat’s AppDev, infrastructure, and cloud technology with a solid focus on AppDev technologies, and you will perform on-site delivery and implementation of modern Red Hat technology.

You will focus on delivering quality work resulting in a positive customer experience, while building broad and deep technical expertise in Red Hat technologies. You'll gain understanding of our customers’ infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues.

As a Senior Platform Consultant, you will work closely with customers to gain an understanding of our customers' infrastructure with a particular focus on Red Hat OpenShift, application deployment, and business needs, and make recommendations appropriate to their environment. You will also support other consultants, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods, mainly based on OpenShift and related technologies.

What you will do

• Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on applications and infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system resilience.
• Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs.
• Adapt to changing customer requirements.
• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, customer training, and deployment of complex open source solutions.
• Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner.
• Deliver quality results both on-site and post-engagement that are on time and within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation.
• Understand industry practices and Red Hat's policies, procedures, and values.
• Learn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs.
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting best methods to obtain solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience working in a consulting role.
• Experience working directly with enterprise stakeholders on a range of development and deployment projects.
• Excellent customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and lead customer interactions.
• Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies on a delivery level.
• Knowledge and experience implementing container technologies in an enterprise setting and with enterprise-wide deployments.
• Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technology and container technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, and related infrastructure technologies on a delivery level.
• Experience onboarding applications and application teams onto cloud or container platforms introducing DevOps, continuous delivery (CD) and application lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of and experience with Istio (RH OpenShift Service Mesh).
• Knowledge of and experience with AppDev Red Hat’s solutions like ArgoCD (RH Openshift GitOps), continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) and related technologies as Jenkins, Tekton or similar; RH Build of Keycloak, FUSE/Camel, RH Connectivity Link, 3scale and AMQ (Kafka and/or Broker).
• Knowledge of application architecture, including application servers, integration patterns, microservices.
• Ability to code in some programming languages (Go, Python, Java...).
• Knowledge of Ansible and Automation.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Good customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and guide customer interactions.
• Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders of technical and business audiences.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Excellent written and verbal language skills in Spanish and English.

Requirements

• Practical experience with agile methods.
• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification.
• Knowledge of Virtualization.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (Red Hat Openshift AI is a plus).
• Interest in, passion for, and experience working with open source technologies and communities.
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or the ability to get it within a few weeks of the start date is a plus.
