Role Description

Disney Digital Entertainment, a division of Disney Experiences, is redefining how audiences interact with The Walt Disney Company—creating the ‘digital front door’ that unites all of Disney’s magic into a cohesive, interactive universe.

As a Senior Online Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable software platforms. You will:

• Design and maintain robust APIs and backend services that handle high-volume, real-time interactions.
• Ensure systems run smoothly under heavy load with low latency, high availability, and seamless scalability.
• Work closely with engineers, designers, and external partners.
• Share knowledge, mentor junior team members, and help shape best practices.
• Think ahead, identify potential issues early, and develop practical solutions that make a real impact.

This role can be based remotely in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, or Norway.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in building and maintaining complex online systems at scale.
• Skilled in high-performance server development and API design, with the ability to guide architectural decisions.
• Adaptable to any programming language required for the task; experience in Go is a plus.
• Thrives in cross-functional teams, communicates clearly, and mentors others.
