[Hiring] Senior Native Android Developer @Fpt Slovakia

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Native Android Developer to join our remote-first, dynamic engineering team. We don’t just need someone who can build Android applications; we are looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving complex technical challenges and actively contributes to improving products, architecture and engineering practices. You will work on modern mobile solutions that support connected digital services and deliver a seamless user experience in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. As a senior member of the team, you will bring minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, provide technical leadership, drive engineering best practices and play an active role in shaping our architecture and technical direction. You will mentor fellow developers, support the growth of junior colleagues and contribute to continuous improvements across both our products and development processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android application features from concept through production.
• Take ownership of complex technical initiatives, contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the mobile platform's direction.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Designers, Test Engineers, Backend Developers and other stakeholders.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code, actively participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Drive process optimization and contribute to the evolution of architecture and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers by sharing knowledge, reviewing code and fostering technical growth.
• Develop unit and component tests, integrate backend services and third-party APIs, and participate in release and deployment activities.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for building modern native Android applications; experience with Google Maps for Jetpack Compose is a strong advantage.
• Strong practical experience with Clean Architecture, with the ability to apply architectural principles to create scalable, maintainable and testable applications.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges, lead initiatives and make sound technical decisions.
• Proven experience working in agile environments (Scrum, SAFe), with a proactive approach to collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Passion for writing clean, efficient, well-structured and thoroughly tested code, maintaining high standards for documentation and long-term maintainability.
• Fluency in English, and German will be an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience with application modularization and scalable Android architectures.
• Experience integrating third-party SDKs, analytics or marketing platforms (e.g. Adjust, Braze).
• Experience integrating backend services through REST APIs or BFF solutions.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and secure coding principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android applications.
