[Hiring] Senior Mobile Engineer @Mode Mobile

Role Description

We’re looking for an exceptional Sr. Mobile Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of user-facing features across our web and mobile experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable entering unfamiliar codebases, quickly understanding complex systems, identifying risks, and turning them into reliable, maintainable production systems.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who loves building beautiful interfaces, optimizing performance, and shipping features that users can feel instantly. You’ll collaborate closely with backend, product, and design to bring new capabilities to market through rapid iterations and continuous deployment. We are an AI-native company, and you’ll be expected to use modern AI coding and agentic tools as a force multiplier in your everyday engineering work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mobile engineering experience in an agile environment delivering native applications to end-users on both Android and iOS.
• Hands-on production experience using:
  • Android: Kotlin (and Java), Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger/Hilt, Retrofit, Room
  • iOS: Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit, Swift Concurrency (async/await), Combine, Core Data or equivalent
• GitHub for version control and pull-request based workflows.
• SOLID, Clean Coding, Testing, experience with automation and instrumentation (Espresso/UI Automator, XCTest/XCUITest).
• Publishing and maintaining apps on Google Play and the Apple App Store, including release management and store compliance.
• Experience taking ownership of an existing production system or codebase.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar architecture, code, dependencies, and operational workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in systems you did not originally design.
• Comfortable working with incomplete documentation and ambiguity.
• Agentic AI proficiency: demonstrated day-to-day use of AI agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot agents) to write and review infrastructure code, automate runbooks, and investigate incidents, with strong judgment on verifying AI-generated output before it touches production.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills leading to confident independent delivery, but know when and how to include others.
• Experience building large-scale systems with some technical leadership skills.
• Passionate about Technology and keeping up to date with latest advancements, techniques and best practices.
