[Hiring] Senior Manager, Software Development @Vidyard

Role Description

Vidyard is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Development to join our Nova team - the team behind our AI Video Agent and Vidyard's most experimental product bets. Reporting directly to our CTO, you'll guide a high-performing team building one of our most critical and fast-moving platforms, while contributing to how great engineering gets done across Vidyard. Through your technical coaching and guidance, you will create a supportive and challenging environment for your team to thrive, and participate in broader initiatives to help level up our engineering team as a whole. This position is available to candidates who are currently located and eligible to work in Canada.

About the Team

Our Nova Team is composed of:

• 5 developers
• A Designer
• A Staff Product Manager
• A Staff Software Developer

We are dedicated to creating and enhancing Vidyard’s Video Agent feature, continually improving and expanding its functionality.

What You’ll Work On

• Play an active role in evolving how our Engineering team works including helping the department build fluency in AI-assisted development practices.
• Stay close to the evolving AI landscape to make informed decisions on architecture, tooling, and experimentation.
• Help shape AI-assisted development practices across Engineering, modeling curiosity and responsible use.
• Refine your team’s charter and direction to maximize Vidyard’s growth.
• Foster strong cross-functional business and technical decisions with Product Managers and Designers.
• Grow and develop an incredible team of hardworking and motivated developers.
• Ensure the delivery of team projects and outcomes to drive forward business goals.
• Partner with other leaders and the team to craft technical and product strategy.
• Develop a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies Vidyard's values.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience leading a development team in a cross-functional environment.
• 10+ years of functional experience in Software Development, SaaS experience considered a plus.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI concepts relevant to SaaS product development.
• Proven track record of delivering great solutions to complex problems.
• Experience hiring, onboarding, and managing a team of developers.

• Comfortable in technical conversations and supporting your team.
• Connect engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes.

We primarily use:

• Ruby on Rails
• Node.js
• Vue.js
• React
• MySQL
• AWS

Experience with some of these is a plus, experience with all of them is not necessary.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is: $165k - $185k - $205k CAD. The salary range is designed to capture the full journey from developing skills to excelling in the role.
