[Hiring] Senior Mainframe Application Developer @Ampcus Inc.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Mainframe Application Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing critical mainframe applications. We are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running, work independently, and drive results without constant supervision. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while collaborating with major technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and Core Mainframe technologies.
• Manage and optimize DB2 databases and perform SAM (Systems Asset Management/Storage Access Method) related tasks.
• Integrate mainframe systems with modern applications using Java.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide senior-level support for production environments.
• Proactively identify areas for system improvement and optimization.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience, typically 7+ years, in Mainframe Application Development.
• Core Mainframe: JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF.
• Languages: COBOL (Expert level).
• Database: DB2 (Strong proficiency).
• Other: SAM, Java, and other relevant mainframe tools.
• Self-Driven: Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Proactive: Must anticipate issues and suggest solutions rather than just reacting to tickets.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Prior experience collaborating with or working alongside IBM resources.
