Role Description

Sr. JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. Responsibilities include:

• Documenting detailed system specifications
• Participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications
• Evaluation and performance testing of purchased products
• Planning, developing, testing, and documenting systems and applications
• Evaluating user requests for new or modified application systems
• Determining feasibility, cost, and time required for compatibility with current systems
• Including IT Controls to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data
• Leading efforts, overseeing work results, providing training, and serving as a technical resource for other Developers

Qualifications

• Experience with release procedures, coding design, and documentation protocol
• Proficiency using versioning tools: GIT, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Flexible team player
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
• Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
• Proficiency in programming in more than one object-oriented programming language; JAVA, JavaScript
• Experience with HTML and Frameworks such as Java Server Pages
• Experience with SOAP, REST web service development
• Database knowledge in; DB2 SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.
• Proficiency in debugging a large and complex codebase
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy
• Ability to manipulate data from various sources/formats such as flat files, relational databases, non-relational databases, XML, JSON, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years relational database experience
• 5+ years related work experience, Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
