Role Description

Sr. JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. They document detailed system specifications, participate in unit testing, maintain planned and unplanned internally developed applications, and evaluate and perform testing of purchased products. Responsibilities include:

• Plan, develop, test, and document systems and applications.
• Evaluate user requests for new or modified application systems.
• Determine feasibility, cost, and time required for new applications.
• Include IT Controls to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.
• Lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training, and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.

Qualifications

• Experience with release procedures, coding design, and documentation protocol.
• Proficiency using versioning tools: GIT, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible team player.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
• Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle.
• Proficiency in programming in more than one object-oriented programming language; JAVA, JavaScript.
• Experience with HTML and Frameworks such as Java Server Pages.
• Experience with SOAP, REST web service development.
• Database knowledge in: DB2 SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.
• Proficiency in debugging a large and complex codebase.
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy.
• Manipulate data from various sources/formats such as flat files, relational databases, non-relational databases, XML, JSON, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years relational database experience.
• 5+ years related work experience, professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry.
