Role Description

  • System Architecture: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems from concept to deployment.
  • Core Development: Develop solutions for processing, storing, and analysing data at scale.
  • Infrastructure & Scaling: Optimize application performance and ensure the reliability of services running in a cloud-native environment.
  • Data Management: Design and maintain complex databases, ensuring data integrity and query efficiency across relational and non-relational systems.
  • Complex Integrations: Manage and implement multi-system integrations, handling high levels of complexity and technical interdependencies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain high quality.
  • Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure Mend.io remains at the forefront of the industry.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with the Java language, including experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with SQL backend, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ.
  • Experienced with AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with AI tools (i.e. Cursor AI or Claude).
  • Ability to take tasks from requirements to deployment quickly and independently.
  • Ability to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Design and build scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs.
  • Experience with test-driven development.

Requirements

  • Understanding of what is an open-source supply chain.
  • Experience with cybersecurity.
