[Hiring] Senior IT Engineer, Automation @Omada Health

Role Description

The Senior IT Engineer, Automation is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering high-impact business process automations across Omada's internal systems ecosystem. This role blends hands-on workflow automation with deep stakeholder engagement to solve complex operational challenges across the organization.

You will act as a trusted consultant and thought partner across the business, including:

Your responsibilities include owning the full lifecycle of automation solutions, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through design, build, testing, launch, and handoff.

Responsibilities

• Intake, Discovery & Solution Analysis
  • Lead the intake process by clarifying requirements and translating problem statements into structured technical scopes.
  • Assess the potential ROI on incoming automation requests.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, system dependencies, and potential risks of proposed automations.
  • Identify risks, edge cases, security concerns, and downstream impacts early.
• Stakeholder Discovery & Facilitation
  • Lead in-depth discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand existing processes and pain points.
  • Rapidly absorb and model unfamiliar problem spaces.
  • Draw on patterns and prior experience to propose and refine flows in real time.
  • Facilitate conversations that challenge long-standing assumptions.
  • Communicate trade-offs clearly and constructively.
• Design, Build & Implementation
  • Translate requirements and process designs into detailed automation builds.
  • Integrate SaaS platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and structured JSON payloads.
  • Build automations that adhere to security, reliability, and governance standards.
  • Iterate rapidly on prototypes and ensure all build artifacts are well-documented.
  • Coordinate with Engineering for custom APIs or technical support.
  • Perform structured UAT with stakeholders.
• Launch, Maintenance & Operations
  • Own the full lifecycle of automation deployments.
  • Maintain, optimize, and refactor automations as upstream systems evolve.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Cross-functional Partnership & Collaboration
  • Partner with stakeholders across Omada to understand workflows and challenges.
  • Work closely with EPD and Security teams on automation-related projects.
  • Provide technical consultation on automation feasibility and integration complexity.
  • Contribute to an "automation-as-a-service" model.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems automation, solutions engineering, or multi-system workflow integration.
• Demonstrated track record in a client-facing or consulting capacity.
• Hands-on experience designing and building secure, resilient automations in at least one orchestration platform (Tines strongly preferred).
• Strong technical understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and structured JSON.
• Proven ability to deconstruct complex business processes into structured workflow models.
• Experience conducting UAT and participating in formal change management processes.
• Strong documentation skills, including Business Requirements Documents and technical specifications.
• Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and partnership skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with additional automation platforms (n8n, Workato, Zapier, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted workflow patterns.
• Experience in SOX, HIPAA, or other audit-aligned environments.
• Exposure to identity lifecycle automation (e.g., Okta, Workday).
