[Hiring] Senior Infrastructure and Data Engineer @Bifrost Studios

Role Description

Hyperion Quantitative Strategies is an AI-native systematic fund built end to end by its own engineering team. The fund is already in discussions that would take it to several hundred million dollars in assets under management, and the ambition is a firm built in the spirit of Renaissance Technologies, with AI core to how it operates rather than a layer sitting on top.

The engineering bench is deliberately small and senior. This role sits across the whole platform:

• Cloud architecture
• Data pipelines
• Production reliability
• Live-system ownership

You will report directly to the CTO and co-founder. Copenhagen is the preferred base; strong candidates in CET-compatible European time zones are considered.

What you'll do:

• Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform on Google Cloud (GKE) through Terraform.
• Build and operate the pipelines that ingest market data from multiple vendors.
• Own deployment, monitoring, alerting and incident response for the live trading systems.
• Own the relational and analytical databases behind trading and research.
• Steward the integrations with external data providers and broker connectivity.
• Cut operational toil through automation.
• Work directly alongside the CTO and the quant and data engineering team.

Twelve months in, success looks like this: the research and quant team has stopped thinking about infrastructure because it just stays reliable.

Qualifications

• End-to-end production ownership.
• Kubernetes, GCP and Terraform in production.
• A track record of building reliable, automated pipelines from messy external sources.
• Strong Python and Java.
• JavaScript is welcome.
• Solid relational database skills across schema design, performance and operations.
• Genuinely AI-native.
• A real interest in markets.
• Based in Copenhagen or within a CET-compatible European time zone.

Requirements

• You have owned a production infrastructure and data platform somewhere reliability genuinely mattered.
• This typically shows up somewhere between five and twelve years in, but we do not filter on years.
• DevOps depth: CI/CD, observability, on-call practice and fault-tolerant architecture.
• Prior experience with trading or market data systems is a meaningful plus.
