[Hiring] Senior Full-Stack Engineer @Homera Health

Role Description

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who leads from the backend. You'll own the data pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure that power our platform, while also being comfortable contributing across the stack when needed.

This is not a traditional full-stack role. Your center of gravity is backend and data — designing systems that reliably capture, process, and serve data at scale — but you won't be siloed. You'll collaborate with product, growth, and operations to ship real outcomes.

What you’ll Do

• Architect and implement scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express
• Design, own, and maintain data pipelines — ingestion, transformation, storage, and reliability
• Structure and model data to support product features, internal tools, analytics, and experimentation
• Own schema design, query optimization, indexing, and scaling across relational and NoSQL stores
• Own deployments and infrastructure on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring
• Contribute to system design decisions as we scale — services, data flow, reliability
• Contribute to or review front-end work in React when needed; you won't be leading it, but you understand it
• Work closely with founders and teams in product, growth, and operations to turn data into outcomes
• Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor mid-level and junior developers
• Improve logging, monitoring, and data reliability across systems

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production systems
• Deep experience with Node.js (primary) or Python for backend services and API development
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases — Postgres strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience building or owning data pipelines and ETL workflows in production
• Solid understanding of system design, performance optimization, and scaling
• Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) alongside relational systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.). You've genuinely integrated AI into your daily engineering workflow and you believe AI-assisted development is the future and it shows in how you work.
• Comfort with React at a working level, you can read, review, and contribute to frontend code
• Strong communication and ownership mindset.

Requirements

• Experience with event-driven systems or streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.)
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools (Airflow, dbt, or similar)
• Experience supporting analytics, growth, or experimentation teams
• Exposure to third-party payment integrations (e.g., Stripe)
• Background in D2C, health tech, or high-growth startup environments
