Role Description

Disney Digital Entertainment is seeking talented individuals passionate about pushing the boundaries of game engine technology. As a critical part of our team, you will leverage your expertise to build and optimize feature-rich engines, ensuring smooth and high-performance experiences for global audiences.

This role will report to the Director of Engineering, Game Engines. The team is fully remote across the Nordic region.

What You Will Do

• Drive Unreal Engine and UEFN Development: Use your deep experience with Unreal Engine to build and extend the systems that game teams rely on.
• Versatile Senior Programmer (C++, Verse, Python & More): Write clean, maintainable code in the language best suited to the problem.
• Core Systems Contributor: Lead improvements across the core systems that underpin Unreal Engine and UEFN development at Disney.
• Tools and Pipeline: Build and evolve the internal tools that game teams depend on.
• AI-Empowered Development: Use AI coding tools in your daily work and help push the boundaries of what is possible.
• Document systems, decisions, and workflows clearly so teammates can understand what has been done and why.
• Work closely with engineers, designers, and producers to create a supportive, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Experience & Technical Expertise: Significant professional experience with C++ and Unreal Engine, with a broad background across engine and tools development.
• Curiosity & Exploration: Eager to learn and experiment with new ideas and approaches.
• Team-Oriented Mindset: Enjoy collaborating across disciplines and mentoring others.
• Clear Communicator: Comfortable sharing ideas and explaining technical concepts to various stakeholders.
• Strategic Problem-Solver: Take initiative and identify opportunities early.
