Role Description

GDIT is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) and to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program. The candidate must be well-versed in the administration of Cloud assets and DevSecOps, and must be solution-oriented, driven, and enjoy teaming with other best and brightest engineers on highly visible, technically challenging projects and offerings.

As Cloud Engineer, you will provide technical support for the development, engineering, APIs, integration, and testing of specific components of complex cloud applications, including:

• Requirements analysis and functional allocation
• Conducting systems requirements reviews
• Developing concepts of operation and interface standards
• Developing system architectures
• Performing technical/non-technical assessments

The Cloud Engineer plays a key role in the OIS Cloud/DevSecOps team, working closely with the customer Product Owner and assisting in the development of system engineering documentation for portfolio applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience
• US Citizenship Required: Yes
• Extensive understanding and experience programming and designing software using Terraform, Ansible, Java, J2EE, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat, and AWS cloud services
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
• Ability to liaise with government, vendors, and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Requirements

• Must have DOW Secret level clearance to start
• Certification Requirement: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II
• Baseline Certification: Security+
• Computing Environment Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar equivalent Cloud environment certification (must be obtained within 6 months of onboarding)
• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering, and operations with emphasis on Navy capabilities
• Demonstrated experience developing models using Sparx EA, Splunk, MuleSoft, SalesForce
• Experience with NIST SP 800 series or ISO 27000 series documents for information security management and risk assessment
• Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies; Jenkins, GitLab Ultimate, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, SonarQube, Fortify, Junit, Karma, Selenium, Cyprus, Docker, Artifactory
• Demonstrated experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V
• Demonstrated experience with operating systems such as RedHat Linux and Windows Server
• Demonstrated experience in ITIL, ISO20000 / ISO27001 implementations
• At least one nationally recognized vendor certification
• Navy experience
