[Hiring] Senior C#/.Net Backend Engineer @Rooted Talents

Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior C#/.NET Backend Engineer to help build and scale the core backend systems powering our platform. This is a deeply hands-on engineering role focused on backend architecture, API development, system performance, and scalable cloud infrastructure.

You will work closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain backend services that support estimating workflows, document intelligence, integrations, and operational automation across the construction lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a strong systems thinker who writes clean, production-grade code, understands distributed application design, and thrives in high-ownership startup environments where execution speed matters.

• Key Responsibilities
• Backend Platform Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C#/.NET
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs supporting frontend applications, integrations, and internal systems
  • Develop reusable backend components and services that support platform-wide functionality
• System Architecture & Performance
  • Design backend systems with scalability, maintainability, and reliability in mind
  • Optimize database queries, API response times, and application performance across the platform
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and observability practices for production systems
• Cloud Infrastructure & Integrations
  • Build and maintain cloud-native services running on Microsoft Azure
  • Develop integrations with third-party systems, APIs, and external data providers
  • Support asynchronous workflows, job queues, and distributed processing pipelines
• Collaboration & Technical Execution
  • Work closely with frontend engineers, product leadership, and AI/ML teams to deliver production-ready features
  • Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and code reviews
  • Debug and resolve complex production issues across backend services and infrastructure
• Code Quality & Engineering Standards
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable production code
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, backend standards, and system documentation
  • Help improve deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and development processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with C#/.NET backend development
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and backend services in production environments
• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization, and backend data modeling
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
• Experience working with asynchronous processing, queues, background jobs, or distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and backend performance optimization
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills

Requirements

• Experience working in startup or high-growth SaaS environments
• Background in construction technology, estimating platforms, or operational workflow systems
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs, or document-processing systems
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills under production pressure
• Ability to move quickly, take ownership, and deliver with minimal oversight
