[Hiring] Senior Backend Engineer @Emma

Role Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join our ERP team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance APIs and distributed systems to support our ERP team. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and frontend developers to build reliable and scalable services that power our global operations.

• Design, build, and scale backend services in Go and Typescript to support Emma’s global fulfillment and logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain robust, secure, and high-performance REST APIs that integrate with various internal systems and third-party providers.
• Work with event-driven architectures using AWS services such as SNS, SQS, ensuring smooth communication across distributed systems.
• Take ownership of backend components end-to-end—from development and testing to deployment and monitoring (full DevOps).
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Be part of an agile, empowered team, actively sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to recruiting efforts to help us grow our high-performing tech team.

Qualifications

• Strong track record of designing and delivering scalable and performant backend systems in a cloud environment, preferably with Go (Golang) & Typescript.
• Experienced in building event-driven architectures using AWS SNS/SQS, and familiar with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and systems integration patterns.
• Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design patterns.
• Several years of proven experience in backend software development, ideally in a fast-paced E-commerce or logistics-focused environment.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and take pride in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Highly self-organized, with a strong sense of ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Team player with strong communication skills, thriving in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.
• Experience working with monitoring tools and implementing observability best practices is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
