[Hiring] Senior Backend Developer @Source Meridian

Role Description

Senior Backend Developer proficient in Python to design, build, and scale high-performance backend services and AI agent orchestrations in AWS. You will play a key role in integrating AI agents with communication platforms (Zoom Contact Center, Telnyx, ChartHero) and internal systems, ensuring production-grade reliability, compliance (HIPAA/SOC2), and system scalability.

What You'll Do

• Build & Scale Backend Services: Design, develop, and maintain robust microservices, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and event-driven workflows in AWS using Python (AI agent orchestration).
• AI & Telephony Integration: Integrate AI agents with Zoom Contact Center and Telnyx, handling call flows, call control, media streaming, event processing, transcription, and data capture into internal platforms.
• Architecture & Best Practices: Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making while writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code adhering to SOLID principles.
• Optimization & Operations: Optimize application performance, database queries, and system scalability in collaboration with DevOps/Cloud teams for CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and infrastructure management.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure production-grade reliability, observability, data security, and compliance (HIPAA/SOC2), while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Core Languages & Frameworks: 5+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
• Architecture & APIs: Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful/GraphQL APIs, high-availability microservices, and event-driven or streaming architectures.
• Telephony & Real-time Communications: Background building or integrating call-center, softphone, or real-time communication applications, with a solid understanding of SIP/VoIP fundamentals as applied to software integrations.
• Cloud & DevOps (AWS): Deep experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, Step Functions, RDS, CloudWatch, S3), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (pytest, unittest), and Version Control (Git).
• Databases: Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS RDS) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• B2+ or higher English level.

Nice to have

• AI & Messaging Integrations: Experience integrating AI or conversational agents into communication workflows, along with familiarity with Zoom, Telnyx, and ChartHero APIs.
• Healthcare & Compliance: Direct experience in the healthcare industry, including HIPAA compliance and health data integration.
• Infrastructure & Messaging Brokers: Knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Architecture Documentation: Strong architectural design and technical documentation skills.
