[Hiring] Senior Application Architect @Humana

Role Description

The Senior Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.
• Develops specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.
• Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications.
• Begins to influence department's strategy.
• Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components.
• Performs work without direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7 or more years of experience as a senior developer in large IT projects.
• Prior project architect and/or team lead experience.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• At least 3 years of project experience working with AI, cloud platforms, and HR platform SaaS applications.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture principles, design patterns, integration patterns, and software engineering practices.
• Experience designing enterprise applications using modern technologies such as APIs, microservices, containers, cloud platforms, event-driven architectures, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with security-by-design principles, identity and access management, data protection, and secure coding practices.
• Ability to create architecture artifacts, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, decision records, and roadmaps.

Requirements

• WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) is required.
• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
