Role Description

The Risk Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and operating software products that support risk management and risk control capabilities across the TORC organization. The team applies modern software engineering practices to create scalable, reliable, and user-friendly applications that help teams understand risk, manage control activity, automate workflows, and turn risk and control data into actionable outcomes.

Risk Engineers are full-stack software engineers who own the full software development lifecycle — from design and implementation through deployment and production support. They build and maintain production applications using modern front-end, back-end, data, and event-driven technologies, and are accountable for the reliability, usability, adoption, and effectiveness of the products they deliver. Success in this role is measured through outcomes such as product adoption, system reliability, improved control execution, reduced manual effort, and meaningful support for risk reduction.

Risk Insights designs, builds, and operates data-driven solutions that help the TORC organization understand, prioritize, and act on risk. The team applies modern engineering and analytics practices to create reliable data pipelines, Microsoft Fabric capabilities, Python-based automations, dashboards, and reporting solutions that turn complex risk, regulatory, control, and operational data into clear, actionable insight for leaders and delivery teams.

The Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building and operating the dashboards, data products, Microsoft Fabric assets, and automation capabilities that support TORC-wide risk and regulatory efforts. This role will work closely with Risk Insights, Risk Engineering, Digital Product Managers, and TORC stakeholders to translate data and process needs into reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. The Engineer will play a key role in reducing manual effort, improving data quality, automating recurring tasks, and helping TORC teams make faster, more evidence-based decisions through trusted dashboards and automation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience building applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience developing APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Experience working with SQL databases and event-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated understanding of software development best practices, including testing, version control, CI/CD, and code reviews.
• Experience collaborating within cross-functional agile teams.
• 1+ year of mentoring, coaching, or technical leadership experience.

Requirements

• Experience supporting risk, compliance, controls, audit, or regulatory technology solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, containerization, and public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience implementing security controls, authentication, and authorization solutions.
• Exposure to AI-enabled development tools and modern engineering automation practices.

Benefits

• Compensation offered for this role is $100,000.00 - $170,500.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
