[Hiring] Principal Solutions Architect @Dotmatics

Role Description

We are seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to be a senior technical authority within Dotmatics Professional Services, responsible for defining and governing end-to-end solution architectures for customer implementations of the Dotmatics Luma platform.

• Act as the design authority for Luma-based customer solutions, including end-to-end lab orchestration architectures.
• Define logical and physical architectures covering applications, data, integrations, identity, environments, and operations.
• Architect solutions that bridge the digital and physical lab.
• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple customer engagements.
• Shape functional requirements in collaboration with Scientific Architect and Application Scientists.
• Own non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, resilience, observability, accessibility, internationalisation, and maintainability.
• Design integration approaches using technologies such as Apache NiFi, APIs, batch pipelines, and event-driven patterns.
• Architect solutions that enable experiments to transition seamlessly from planned to scheduled to executing.
• Define integration patterns with lab automation and scheduling platforms.
• Apply security best practices covering IAM, data protection, tenancy, and compliance.
• Act as senior technical advisor to customers, including IT leadership and lab automation/informatics leads.
• Provide architectural guidance to other Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Application Scientists, and Delivery Partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years with scoping automated scientific workflow-based solutions.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade SaaS or hybrid architectures.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific field.
• Advanced understanding of integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.

Requirements

• Experience with data platforms (Databricks) and integration tools (Apache NiFi).
• Familiarity with lab automation connectivity standards and protocols (SiLA2, LADS, OPC-UA).
• Experience integrating complex application landscapes (ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES).
• Understanding of how digital workflow systems connect to physical lab execution.
• Comfortable acting as the most senior technical voice in the room.
• Experience working in customer-facing consulting or professional services roles.
