Role Description

We have a truly exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to be part of an innovative software engineering team developing Brady's cloud native trading software for the power and energy markets. The Principal Engineer is responsible for playing a hands-on role in software development of our day-ahead and intra-day auctions module throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), managing a small 1–3 person team.

The Principal Engineer will also be responsible for:

• Peer reviews, pull requests, and best practices.
• Helping to drive our products forward along with pursuing our continuous improvement approach.

Qualifications

• Full software development lifecycle (10+ years)
• Object Oriented Programming (10+ years)
• Automated developer testing (5+ years)
• .NET Core Web API
• C# and .NET (10+ years)
• SQL / NoSQL (5+ years)
• Major Public Cloud Platform, preferably Azure (2+ years)
• Docker / containerisation / orchestration
• Software design patterns, including SOLID design principles
• Enterprise architecture and integration patterns
• Source control, Git and GitHub

Requirements

• Experience developing a multi-tenant SaaS product utilising PaaS services
• Azure (App Service, Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, App Configuration)
• GitHub + GitHub Actions
• SonarCloud / CodeQL
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM
• Working in start-ups, or dynamic environments
• Experience working in Agile / Sprints
