[Hiring] PeopleSoft PeopleTools Engineer @Bright Vision Technologies

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft PeopleTools Engineer responsible for the architecture, installation, configuration, upgrade, and ongoing technical operation of enterprise PeopleSoft environments. In this role you will own the technical backbone of the PeopleSoft platform — including:

• PeopleTools upgrades
• Image applications
• Security configurations
• Search server operations
• Integration with cloud and middleware platforms

The ideal candidate will combine deep PeopleTools and PeopleSoft administration experience with strong fundamentals in Oracle database, Linux/Unix, and modern DevOps practices. You will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions.

You will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of PeopleSoft PeopleTools administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with PeopleTools upgrades and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM).
• Strong experience with WebLogic, Tuxedo, and PeopleSoft application/process scheduler servers.
• Experience administering Elasticsearch / OpenSearch in support of PeopleSoft.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database administration.
• Strong Linux/Unix skills and shell scripting experience.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft Cloud Manager or equivalent automation tooling.
• Experience operating HA/DR for PeopleSoft.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Requirements

• Install, configure, and operate PeopleSoft environments across development, test, training, and production.
• Lead PeopleTools upgrades, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image applications, and patch deployments.
• Manage application servers, process schedulers, web servers (WebLogic), and the integration broker gateway.
• Administer Elasticsearch / OpenSearch (or Verity legacy) deployments supporting PeopleSoft search.
• Perform PeopleSoft system copies, refreshes, and clones across environments.
• Implement and tune database connectivity, including Oracle Database administration tasks in partnership with DBA teams.
• Configure PeopleSoft security at the application, web, and infrastructure layers.
• Operate PeopleSoft Cloud Manager or equivalent automation tooling where applicable.
• Design and operate HA/DR strategies for PeopleSoft environments.
• Develop automation tooling using shell, Python, or Ansible to reduce operational toil.
• Monitor system health and performance, leading capacity planning and tuning activities.
• Provide hands-on post-go-live and hypercare support.
• Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
