Role Description

These positions are available to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities:

• A tool was developed for FBV use while standing up new colo environments that allows us to quickly compare configurations server by server in all environments to identify problem areas.
• Opportunity to enhance this tool to become a valuable daily Prod and non-Prod resource for identifying anomalies both proactively for configuration drift as well as reactively during a production incident.
• Proposal to add automation and display results in a visual fashion.
• Developers and production support resources can instantly see the current condition of all environments at any given time.
• Data points can include:
  • Directory structure and ownership
  • Account permissions
  • WebSphere custom configs
  • Database auto-extends settings
  • TLS encryption levels
• Could be demo'd for the Check processing as an example for other business lines within a couple of months.
• Most key data points are applicable across systems, making it portable to other areas.
• Enhanced tool would be valuable for ensuring Colo environment parity ahead of ACH colo cutover.
• Unlike other tools, ALL environments are available in a single view as opposed to a single server or application.
• This capability could significantly improve system stability, reduce configuration drift, and identify abnormalities before they become problems.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 plus years of work-related experience.
• Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Demonstrates independent thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Strong programming skills in Java with strong object-oriented skills.
• Proficient knowledge of at least one Unix or Unix variant system.
• Proficient knowledge of at least one major relational database system.
• 3-4 plus years of experience in large systems software design and development experience.
• Experience with Spring, MVC, Java Script, Ajax is very helpful.
• Experience with Jenkins and GIT is helpful.
• Working knowledge of database SQL, creating objects and stored procedures is a plus.
• Good understanding of agile software development methodologies and contrasts to waterfall methodologies.
