Role Description

The Lead, Software Engineer will be responsible for:

• Researching, designing, and developing computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
• Partnering with product owner and technical manager to define and refine new user stories and requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Assessing proof of concepts and innovative ideas for cloud and big data solutions, providing strategic recommendations for technology implementation.
• Delivering assigned software features as part of the sprint cycle, adhering to established coding standards and meeting specified functional requirements.
• Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues in production environments.
• Collaborating with development teams, peers, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement hotfixes promptly.
• Analyzing and remediating vulnerabilities identified through security scans, including dependency analysis, and ensuring continuous compliance with security policies during each sprint cycle.
• Helping team members with coding best practices, formulating effective unit and regression testing strategies, and executing performance tests while analyzing the outcomes.
• Designing and executing benchmark, load, stress, endurance, and other performance tests; monitoring application logs to assess system behavior and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborating effectively with peers to develop and implement seamless product integrations, ensuring cohesive functionality across systems.
• Providing insightful technical feedback on the availability, performance, reliability, and scalability of applications within scope, contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Three years of experience in the job offered or three years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained.
• Three years of experience in each of the following:
• Designing and developing backend APIs using Java to support WebSocket and RESTful communication.
• Developing scalable microservices using the Micronaut framework.
• Creating and managing Databricks batch jobs using Apache Spark.
• Developing Angular user interface components, integrating with a Node.js backend.
• Using GoCD to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Leveraging AWS services including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and SSM.
• Using Terraform to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Developing Python and Shell scripts to automate deployment pipelines.
• Utilizing Kafka to implement event-driven architecture for microservices.
• Implementing integration tests using the Gauge framework.
• Utilizing K6 framework to conduct performance testing for REST APIs.
• Managing and maintaining relational databases using PostgreSQL.
